Friday morning we checked out of our hotel and met LiAn, Ling and Xing in the lobby. Xing drove us to the Beijing Pearl Market where we had an hour to browse. The market was quite busy and the vendors were very aggressive. In the markets the price is bartered, it is somehow empowering to know if you can't agree on a price with one vendor, the next 50 will have the same product. The physical aggressiveness was something new and I didn't like it one bit!
After lunch we were delivered to the train station where we boarded the 2 o'clock bullet train back to Shanghai. At the train station in Shanghai, where it is raining, we are met by Bruce. I have finally figured out that his name isn't Bruce Lee - its Bruce Li, and most likely Bruce isn't his real name either, no matter, we were very happy that he found us.
The traffic in Shanghai is heavy and moves slowly,
the city does have quite the infrastructure!
We are eventually delivered back to the Shanghai Tower and reunite with Pete, Charlotte, Gerald and Jyl, and share the weeks activities!
